This past weekend I had a one-night trip out to Denver to further some work I am doing with the CRM Missio team. I really enjoy these guys and I love being back near the mountains of Colorado. Hugh and Matt who lead Missio have a book coming to market in April, entitled The Tangible Kingdom. You can pre-order at Amazon.

These photos are our working on extending this book into an online presence by creating a meeting place for Tangible Kingdom practitioners to share learning and life - easy to write in a sentence but a bit more complicated to execute, thus all the drawing and talking going on!

One Nation Under . . .

This is a fascinating poster for visually communicating what we emphasize as a nation - plus it captures the vagaries of our national budget. Politicians can espouse all kinds of ideals, but just as with an individual, the check book best illustrates our priorities. I wonder what would happen if, for only a few months, we flipped the chart - in other words the United States spent on all the other services what it spends on Defense.

See ShapeVine for some very cool sharing of knowledge - everything from house churches, emerging networks and The Starfish and The Spider. Seems like great use of technology - here’s hoping the content matches the bells and whistles.

Mom my Ride

This is a funny video - you have heard of Pimp my Ride, now it is Mom my Ride. Every parent of small children will get this immediately!

Plus it’s clever marketing to mom’s - a notoriously difficult demographic to market to - American Airlines have just been heavily criticized for initially creating a lavender colored website for women that came across as demeaning.

Starfish and the Spider

starfish-and-spider2.jpgThis is a great book for discovering the power of decentralisation or as the books subtitle says “The Unstoppable Power of Leaderless Organisations.” Using the core illustration of the fact that just a single amputated leg of a starfish can regrow to a complete starfish, the authors further illustrate the power of decentralisation by the example of the Apaches resisting the Spanish army. Those illustrations are then extended to the organisations of our time such as Wikipedia, Craigs List, al Qaeda and Skype.

An interesting list of the smartest online nonprofit organisations - chosen for their excellence in online storytelling and in collaboration with their donors.  Some good lessons to learn here for CRM I think.
